Fuica Films is a movie production and distribution company.

The company’s founder, Leonardo Fuica, has been a professional actor since his early teens. As a trilingual performer he’s amassed an international body of work, with film credits including Lance et Compte: Le retour du chat, The American Trap, Home Team, Waking the Dead, Dead Zone, Rats and Rabbits, as well as television credits including CBC’s Transplant, Tag, 2 frères, and 10-07 L’affaire Kafka. During the production of Steve Guttenberg's American film Home Team in 1998, he discovered his passion for film production and has been enthralled ever since.

 

 Following those experiences, he’s been able to apply his newly acquired competences in the Canadian Film industry by co-writing and co-producing his first feature : La Run, an acclaimed Quebec film that toured festivals worldwide including Montreal’s Festival des Films du Monde, France’s Festival Film Francophone D’Angoûlème, and the Festival International du Film Policier de Liège in Belgium. It also held 3 Jutra nominations in 2012 for best screenplay, best editing and best supporting role.

 

 Production

 

As a canadian film production company, Fuica Films went to produce multiple other canadian movies such as : L’Énergie Sombre, Camping Trip, and The Little Devil and the Big Demon. These features that are part of the Quebec cinema ecosystem have went on to tour and win awards in renowned festivals such as The Hasting Rocks Film Festival, Beyond the Curve International Film Festival, FICIMAD, Out Of The Can Film Festival and the London Rocks International Film Festival
